We spinnin'!

FCS Logo 2014

Sunday was Father’s Day and Ed took time away from his family to come teach us. So before I start I’d like to thank everyone from the FCS Tribe, FCS Cali Crew, and FCS Kali San Diego for taking time to share their knowledge with us. I’d also like to thank everyone who came to Sunday’s practice who took time away from their families to train with their FCS family.

Warm up.

Ed brought some kicking pads that day. He was going to go over some kicks from his Taekwondo background and show how we can apply it to real world scenarios and how we can integrate Taekwondo and Hapkido into FCS. Before any of that we did our warm up. We started out with some stretching and then went up and down the hills using different footing like forward, backward, and side stepping. Then we did some footwork drills. These drills were to help get our footing ready for the Taekwondo kicks that we were going to be doing….

Beach Day - 061414

http://www.itsyoboyflex.com/2014/06/14/beach-day-061414/

Man it was such a nice day at the beach today. Wish we didn't have so much to do so we could have stayed longer. I pretty much did all of the same stuff I did from yesterday, other than showing Tracee the karambit template that Bernie started teaching us last Sunday. Practice makes perfect right? Still have a lot to do today so I have to cut this really short. Tomorrow is Father's Day so I'll see whoever can make it to practice. Happy training everyone and see you next time. ItsYoBoyFlex and I'm out.

Weekend Recap

ItsYoBoyFlex Weekend Recap

Friday:

We made our way to Crown Point and I got started. I was feeling tired that day. Not enough sleep from the night before and was starting to feel a little under the weather. I also started running again. I didn't want to be too sore for Saturday so I didn't run a few days. Anyway, I took it easy that day and went over mostly stick work.

Saturday:

Kajukenbo Unity Seminar 2014

Kajukenbo Unity Seminar

This was the first time for me to attend. Manong Rich, Jim, Edwin, Marlon, and I were there to represent FCS Kali, FCS Cali Crew, and of course FCS Kali West Coast San Diego. We got to learn, hear some great stories, and see some awesome presentations from some great masters of our time including Prof. Brad Namahoe, Guro Mario Gajo, GM Chris P. Siangco, 'Ôlohe Kolomona Solomon Kaihewalu, GM Eugene Sedeno, GM Ted Sotelo, and GGM Carlos Bunda to name a few. They even had Mercito "No Mercy" Gesta and his father, Anecito Gesta, come to do a presentation as well as have us do some drills. And did I mention that Manong Rich also did a presentation representing FCS Kali and Ed Parker's Kenpo? I'll try to briefly share what I experienced there because even this will be a lot to take in.

Whatcha Missed – Lock Stock And Two Smokin’ Barrels

IMG_3061

Ok so here’s whatcha missed this weekend:

Friday Out With The Kids… They Ain’t My Kids.

Friday. On Friday we headed over to our usual spot at Crown Point. It must have been a Senior day at the park or something because right when we pulled into the parking lot, so did 3 buses full of students. Needless to say, the park was packed full of kids. A great opportunity for these kids to see some Kali action....
